Underwood Drafting & Surveying, Inc. (UDS) has been providing professional land surveying services to municipalities, public entities and the general public in the North Texas and Southern Oklahoma areas since 1988.  The firm has provided such services as right of way mapping, parcel plats and legal descriptions and subdivision layout and design, just to name a few.  All surveying services are performed under the supervision of 3 Registered Professional Land Surveyors.

UDS is based in Denison, Texas and provides professional land surveying services to many of the cities, settlements and private citizens of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma.  This in-depth local knowledge, presence and experience are of great benefit in quickly resolving boundary conflicts and other survey disputes.

UDS maintains 3 fully functioning equipped field crews complete with modern electronic total stations and data collectors.  The firm owns and utilizes, on a regular basis, 3 sets of real time and 1 set of static GPS equipment to meet the GPS requirements of its clients.  Each crew is equipped with cellular phones and two-way radios to maintain communication with the office and each other.  The firm also maintains vehicles for off-road access to meet the special needs of specific projects.  UDS uses TDS software for reduction and adjustment of its survey data.  Field data is downloaded directly from the data collectors into the computer network as well as via email.

UDS recently became part of a RTK Network within the State of Texas and Oklahoma that is similar to the system that is operated by Department of Transportation.  This system is owned by the participating survey companies.  The network will have its origins within the major metropolitan areas of Texas and Oklahoma.  It is anticipated that the network will expand outward until all areas are seamlessly combined into one RTK Network covering all areas of Texas and Oklahoma that have cellular coverage.  Using Trimble Reference Stations, Trimble GPSNet and Trimble RTKNet software, a surveyor with a Rover working within the network will be able to obtain RTK accuracies as good or better than what they are presently experiencing using their own base.  This is possible as the software creates a Virtual Reference Station solution very close to where they would be working, resulting in short baseline solutions.
